There are many excellent career opportunities available in the fast-moving Information Technology (IT) sector. IT is used in all industries, providing a variety of interesting and rewarding career and progression opportunities.
The IT industry is driven by technology but is run by people: while technical skills are needed for many roles, employers also want team-players, problem-solvers and good communicators. The technical content of IT roles, ranges from the deep technical skills of a software developer through to roles that may need much less detailed knowledge – for example in some project management roles, communication, organisation and the ability to gather together the people who do have technical knowledge, may be more important than what you know yourself.
