About us…
Northgate Managed Services is Northern Ireland’s largest indigenous IT services company, headquartered in Newtownabbey, with annual revenues of £120m and employing 1100 people.
The company provides a wide range of IT services to private sector businesses and public sector organisations across the UK. We support over 2000 customers with 420,000 end users and respond to over 100,000 service desk calls annually.
Our aim is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our customer’s enterprises through the use of IT, and we aim to be the market leader in each of our chosen sectors.

Corporate Social Responsibility – The community engagement programme aims to support and encourage employee participation in volunteering and charitable work and make a positive impact in the local communities in which we operate.
• Each Northgate employee is entitled to one day’s paid leave to participate in a team community-related activity known as a “community link” day.
• Northgate Managed Services partner with Business in the Community (BITC) on a number of initiatives
o Cares Challenges – Employees have the opporutunity to volunteer at a local charity/organisation for example by painting a classroom in a school or helping in the gardens at a local charity.
o Time to – employees have the opportunity to take one hour out of work per week to help out in a local primary school enhancing reading and ICT skills of pupils.
o Adopt a school – We support 2 local schools in the development of senior management, the teaching staff and provide careers advice and work place opportunities for students.

OPPORTUNITIES
As a successful and growing IT services company Northgate Managed Services is committed to working with young people in the communities where we are based by offering a number of opportunities to enable us to develop a qualified and talented workforce that will help us grow our business.
Graduate Training and Undergraduate Placement Schemes – We have a number of programmes available throughout the year. We tailor these depending on the role and the person.
Apprenticeship Scheme – An 18 month on the job training scheme targeted at 16-19 yr olds. In addition to studying for the NVQ Level 2 IT systems and support qualification, the apprentices will ‘earn as they learn’, combining educational study with hands-on training as part of the IT service team. Each apprentice is also allocated a mentor and ‘buddy’ to support and advise them throughout the 18 month programme. As with every employee in Northgate, the apprentices will have their own personal development plan and upon completion of the Scheme, there is potential for them to move into permanent positions in Northgate with opportunities to develop their skills within a wide variety of career paths in the company.
