On 5th November 2010, the Bring IT On National ICT Event was held simultaneously in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry.
Over 40 schools were represented at both events with approx 1,200 students.
The keynote speaker was TV personality Johnny Ball who sought to inspire the students’ creativity and interest in STEM subjects. A WEB quiz was created for the event which directed the students to multimedia content on the Bring IT On site, showcasing ICT companies and individuals in Northern Ireland.
In Belfast, 15 companies ranging from local entrepreneurs such as NiftyNosh to large corporations such as Citi gave their time to have stands and talk to students over lunch and another 8 organisations held workshops as part of the day.
In Derry/Londonderry, 8 companies ranging from local companies such as Cúnamh ICT to larger companies such as Allstate gave their time to have exhibition stands at the event and to discuss with the students the background to their companies. Another 4 Ambassadors from companies Microsoft, Darkwater Studios, 360 Production and UU School of Computing and Intelligent Systems held interactive workshops throughout the day.
