Established in 1986 as a joint venture between Fujitsu and The Queen's University of Belfast Business Incubation Unit (QUBIS), Kainos designs and implements IT solutions and is one of Northern Ireland's first campus companies.
It has about 250 consultants working in 4 locations – Belfast, Dublin, London and Gdansk in Poland - on projects in the financial services and public sector. In 2007 it won the prestigious 'Business Growth' accolade at the 2007 Belfast Business Awards.
In ancient Greek the word Kainos meant 'new creation'. In business today the company takes it to mean innovation in practice – a credo that Kainos considers applies to every level of their business.
