Monkey Music
Arctic Monkeys certainly haven’t caught a cold!
Cool Trendsetters
One of the first bands to use the power of the internet, they achieved success through fan-made demo tapes and online file sharing. As their fan-base grew, the band was able to communicate daily with their fans through their forum and fans could also swap tracks with one another with the group’s blessing. Their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, released in January 2006, was at the time the fastest-selling debut album in British music history, surpassing Oasis’ Definitely Maybe.
